Renee is a native of Sudbury, Ontario. She received a Bachelor of Music from Queen’s University.  She went to London, England and returned to Canada eleven years later. As a result of her time abroad, she has a penchant for curry, single malts, and elaborate charcuterie boards. Whilst in England she studied with some amazing people (Nelly Miricioiu, Diane Forlano, Ludmilla Andrew), and performed in opera, operetta, recitals, plays and film in the West End, Off West End, Off-Off West End, The East End, all over the UK and Europe. She also taught voice and stagecraft on the B.Mus and M.Mus at Canterbury Christ Church University from 2003-2009.  Now living in Toronto, her studio is brimming  and buzzing with up and coming talent. 


Her passion for education has lead to on-stage workshops for children, devising theatre based community projects, masterclasses and lecturing at various British institutions including the University of Exeter and Cambridge University as representative performer with: English Touring Opera. The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, Opera Brava, Opera a la Carte and The Arcola Theatre.


Renée’s directorial credits include: Several international projects including: an English adaptation of Hungary's longest running musical The Attic (Covent Garden Cultural Centre); Courtenay, The Musical (UK Tour), Noise Ensemble (Edinburgh Festival; International Tour: Korea, Russia, UK,)  Little Red Riding Hood (Resonance Theatre; Fringe KIDS! 2010), Drawing a Blank (The Empty Room)  Into the Woods; Anne of Green Gables (Bravo Academy), and The Merry WidowIl Barbiere di Siviglia, The Magic Flute, Don Pasquale (Opera York), and most recently created a semi-staged La Traviata for Southern Ontario Lyric Opera.
