The Audition Clinic was created to address what is probably the most stressful part of our profession. An audition is akin to a job interview. Of course, you are expected to sing well, but many extramusical factors can influence the success of an audition, from the way you walk into the room to the way you walk out at the end. As experienced auditionees and auditioners, coaches and accompanists, we have seen it all.

Singer-director Reneé Salewski and repetiteur-MD Allyson Devenish take you through a mock audition, working session in a supportive masterclass environment, “call back”, and general discussion.  We address such things as: repertoire, manner, appropriate dress, presentation of music, tailoring your CV to a particular job or company, and headshots.

A great voice is not enough. The Audition Clinic works on the total package, helping you to be well prepared, well-informed, and well-armed so that you can develop the career you deserve.

Ludmilla Andrew, Professor of Vocal Studies at the Royal Academy of Music, London, casting consultant, advisor to Mastersingers and guest panellist at The Audition Clinic’s sessions in 2012 writes: “I believe The Audition Clinic offers an invaluable opportunity for young singers to better understand what is expected of them in auditions - not just consummate singing, but a consummate code of behaviour and attitude as well! The Audition Clinic has come up with an outstanding concept with outstanding results. Bravo! I am delighted to support them to the full and to recommend this enterprising effort. Continued success and well done!”

It is next to impossible to get audition feedback.  This is the way to get it.

WHAT ALUMNI HAVE TO SAY:

“I walked out of Day 1 of The Audition Clinic and ran straight to a previously scheduled audition.  I am thrilled to say I secured the role and am confident it was down to the session.”  Olivia Barry, mezzo-soprano

“I found the clinic both grounding and inspiring.  Hearing and understanding that auditioning IS the job, until it isn’t anymore, was profound.” Alex Rogers, mezzo-soprano
